The famous, or infamous, hacking group "Anonymous" or "Anon" is a major hacking group based of a site called 4chan. This is a group that started in 2003 as an unorganized group. They have now turned into the worlds largest and most dangerous hacking group since 2008. They are so big, yet so unknown, they are one of the major successors to WikiLeaks. one recent activity that "Anon" has committed was when they places the personal address, emails, and phone numbers of a U.S. Department of Justice investigator. Why did they do this? Because he was going through with an investigation of the group to shut them down. After many calls and home visits by activists the investigation was shut down. Another attack by "Anon" was back in March of 2011. A known member of "Anon", George Hotz a.k.a. GeoHot, was put into a lawsuit by Sony for hacking a Sony PS3 game. In retaliation "Anon" hacked Sony, closing their market for 3 weeks and stealing information from 10,000 profile accounts; however they did nothing with the information they had, like credit card information. A third attack by "Anon" was on three major banks in Brazil. They hacked their websites to protest the inequalities in Latin Ameican economy. All this goes to show: DO NOT F**K with "Anonymous".
