Android: Open development

http://www.technewsworld.com/rsstory/74560.html

Due to android's "open development" almost any application can be submitted though the android market, without approval from Google. This means that you could be downloading anything. That said, this could mean that your security on your droid could be compromised all from downloading an app. With that in mind, viruses or other malicious software could be installed on your android. This also means that as long as the developer can create it, it is possible. Therefore, a developer can create an app and have it steal your photos and upload it to a remote server. So, in general if your worried about your photos, there is much worse things that can happen on your phone. So, when your choosing a phone, chose the secure phone, chose iPhone.
