When a service offers 4G and 3G this means the type of generation that they are. Such as the 3rd and 4th generation. 3G allows you to have email, downloading and media streaming. Though 3G only comes with only 1 million bits this can make an download take about 2-3 minutes. While the 4G goes through 100mbps which can send the media that takes 2-3 minutes only seconds. the only carrier that offers real 4G is sprint. Sprint has only 2 phones that can go 10 times faster than 3G. Though the speed does vary when your not in a big city the speeds can drop to 3G coverage. the companies that say they offer 4G but dont include: AT&T and T-mobile. This is what sucks is because I have AT&T and my service stinks sometimes.
