Today most wireless devices are eqiup with 3G capabilties and all range in carriers. 3G refers to any devices used in the third generation of mobile devices that can reach up to 3 Megabits per second (Mbps), with average speeds tending to be closer to 1Mbps or lower. On the other hand there is the fourth generation devices which boast 100Mbps to 1Gbps roughly 10 t 100 times (depending on location) faster than 3G networks. Now many companies claim they have 4G phones but many in Verisons line up do not actually have 4G capabilies. Only Sprints HTC Evo and Samsung Epic are true fourth geneation phones. However, there is a downside to 4G in that there is little coverage compared to the vast coverage of 3G so when the 4G era does arrive only these phones can be ready.
