What is the difference between 3G and 4G?

Shantell Saavedra

3G is the mobile telecommunication standards of our current generation. 3G allows use of speech and data service. 3G offers data that rates up to 14 MPBs uplink and 5 MPBs downlink. 3G has an average speed, at it's download speed, it takes roughly 1 to 2 minutes to download a 4-minute MP3 file. 4G is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunication standards. 4G will probably combine 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Voip. 4G makes things easier to download MP3 files at a much quicker speed. The carriers that offer 4G are AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The carriers that say they offer 4G, but don't are Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Although they say they offer 4G, they don't because 4G is not offered on these mobile devices. 4G is not offered on many of the phones we use these days because of the area we live in. 4G depends on where you live and which generation of 3G or 4G that your phone can get.
