In war, it is pretty common to lose a limb. To solve this problem, scientists have studied the science of cells and have developed a technological solution to assist our soldiers. Surgeons rebuild the lost body parts by growing pig cells- placing them in the area where it is needed through surgery- analyze and give critical care until the limb is grown. The science is incredible! Through the use of a high- tech incubator, tissue is regrown with pig cells and some of the soldier's cells. A type of "cellular glue" is then used to add the tissue to regrow the missing limb. Pig cells are used because pig cells have the ability to increase growth rates- a key factor in their tissue that humans lack. After the surgery, the soldier is then placed in a rehab that allows them to work out vigorously to strengthen the new muscle. Though the new limb may seem or look odd, it has saved the lives of many soldiers already.
