'Subconsious mode' estends handset battery life

A professor from The Univerity of Michigan and one student have devoloped a new technology for cell phones called E-MiLi. Your phone will usually search for incoming data just as much data when your not using it just as much as it does when you are, but with E-Mili which puts your phone on standby, you could improve battery life by 54%. What E-Mili does is cut your phone using its wireless radio one sixteenth which saves alot of power.
