Is a nuclear-powered car in our future?

Cadillac has created a nuclear powered concept car. The onboard nuclear reactor powers the car and is ran on thorium.Thorium is a naturally occurring radioactive chemical event, found in abundance throughout the world. Thorium atoms (Th) was discovered in 1828 and named after Thor, the god of thunder. It has an atomic number of 90, with 90 protons, and 90 electrons, of which 4 are valence electrons.

This Cadillac is supposed to last up to 100 years without maintenence.
The vehicle didn't have a working thorium nuclear reactor, yet researchers says that the technology is within our reach.
According to the article, the reactor changes water into pressurized steam and spins an electric turbine that can produce a total of 250 kilowatts or 335 horsepower, equivelent to the horsepower of a 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe, or a 1996 V8 6-speed Corvette. and more horsepower than a 1996 Nissan 300ZX Turbo, and a 2002 V8 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
