Android surpassed aplle in downloads, according to research on Ovium.
Android made 8.1 billion apps this past year, compared to apple's IOS devices.
Apple recorded 2.7 billion downloads and Android recorded 1.4 billion downloads last year, also th total number of downloads is expected to grow 144% this year.
Companies have also put marketing dollars on these smartphones. Luring in even more consumers try millions of consumers joining in on these markets for smartphones.
Androids market is set to grow in a few months. Android benefits because other app stores such as Amazon and GetJar have sprung even more to provide alternative sources fo mobile progams.
